Shaf, Daniela and Nat are MASH-UP.
We are a fashion design label (and collective) from Singapre (& D.I.Y. advocators!!)
MASH-UP is an independent, offbeat street-wear label inspired by everything from ethnic heritage and
pop culture to cinematography. The brainchild of LASALLE College of the Arts fashion graduates Daniela Monasterios Tan, Nathanael Ng and Shaf Amis’aabudin, MASH-UP
is a manifestation of our common love for music, partying and fashion.
We produce clothing and accessories that incorporate recycled materials and do-it-yourself craft techniques such as embroidery and beading in neon colours, to yield products that are unusual and fun.
A mash-up is a fairly new term used in music and it perfectly describes what we are about. We are
interested in bringing new meanings to old things, physically and metaphorically. For example, we
use old garments that already have their own history and function, and by using “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY)
craft techniques like embroidery, we are able to create a new use for them. Nothing is original, everything that exists and has been invented can be mashed up together to create
a new story.
As part of the third batch of designers in the incubator programme, MASH-UP debuted its first flagship store in Parco next Next.
